Northwell Health, founded in 1997, is a not-for-profit healthcare network that includes around 20 hospitals, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, a center for emergency medical services, rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities, a home care network, a hospice network and progressive care centers offering a range of outpatient services. It was formerly called North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and changed its name in 2015.
Headquartered in New Hyde Park, New York, as of 2015 Northwell Health was the largest integrated health system in New York State, based on patient revenue, and the 14th largest healthcare system in the United States and with around 60,000 employees, it was the largest private employer in New York State.
